Through
out my life I often regretted the times I had been too open and too honest
with people. But now I see that is the source of my art. To paint a nude
self portrait shows courage, but then to turn around and sell it to a total
stranger for $150, that shows real balls. (So to speak) |

Don't
put too much weight behind the hand that pats you on the back today, because
the same hand may be stabbing you in the back tomorrow. Arrogance is not
a flaw in an artist, it's a strength. Many talented artists never even create
for the fear of rejection and criticisms, lesser artists who dare criticisms,
who can tolerate the sting of rejection are like prize fighters picking
themselves up off the canvas. |
