Styles's work is predominantly three-dimensional; he often employs found materials, especially retro-leaning signage, scrap metal, window frames and the like in his work. These objects he combines with his painting and sculpting skills to create a wide variety of pieces that present points of view ranging from provocative to poignant to whimsical.

(to Styles)...the mentally disturbed, highly intelligent work of Hunter S. Thompson himself is an inspiration. John Belushi is another of Eric Styles' muses...these men are all public figures with distinct personalities that involve drugs, women and illegal behavior,but yet have enough charm and intellect in their crafts to be well respected and liked.
